This policy explains your rights and our procedures for cancellations, returns, exchanges and refunds for both

Cancellation Policy

Order cancellation is permitted only if the order has not yet been dispatched. To request a cancellation:

  1. Contact our support team at info@thesmilodon.com or WhatsApp/Phone: +91-7589113431.
  2. Provide your Order ID and reason for cancellation.

We will confirm cancellation within 24–48 hours. If the order has already been dispatched or processed
by our warehouse/delivery partner, cancellation may not be possible; in such cases please follow the Returns procedure below.

Exceptions: Perishable items, personalised/custom items and certain final-sale/clearance items cannot be cancelled once processed.

Return Eligibility

Returns are accepted only under the following conditions:

  • The product is damaged or defective on arrival.
  • You received the wrong item or incorrect size/item variant.
  • The product is unused, unwashed, and returned in its original packaging with all tags intact.

Non-returnable items: Gift cards/vouchers, innerwear and intimate hygiene products, and clearly marked final-sale/clearance items.

Return Window (Time Limits)

  • India customers: Initiate returns within 7 days from date of delivery.
  • International customers (US/EU & others): Initiate returns within 14–30 days (maximum) from date of delivery.

Requests raised after the applicable return window will not be eligible unless otherwise approved in writing by our support team.

Exchanges

Exchanges are available only for the same product in a different size (subject to stock availability).
If the requested size is unavailable we will offer a refund to the original payment method or store credit, per customer preference.

Return Shipping & Costs

  • India: If the return is due to our error (defective, wrong item), we will cover return shipping costs. For other valid returns, return shipping may be charged to the customer unless otherwise stated.
  • International: Customers are generally responsible for return shipping costs unless the return is due to a defective/wrong item shipped by us.

For international returns, customs/duties for returned shipments and any re-import fees are the customer’s responsibility unless otherwise agreed.

Refund Method & Currency

Refunds are processed to the original payment method used at the time of purchase (credit/debit card, UPI, net banking, PayPal, Razorpay, Stripe, etc.).
Alternatively, customers may opt for store credit.

Currency: Refunds will be issued in the original currency of payment. Any currency conversion fees, bank processing fees or chargeback costs applied by the customer’s bank or payment provider are the responsibility of the customer.

Processing Timeframes

  • Once the returned item is received and inspected, we will notify you of the approval or rejection of your refund within 3–7 business days.
  • After approval, refunds will be initiated within 3–7 business days.
  • Time to reflect in the customer’s account:
    • India: Typically 3–7 business days (depends on the bank/payment method).
    • International: Typically 7–14 business days (may vary by bank/payment provider).

Refund Denial — Common Reasons

  • Item is used, washed, or shows signs of customer damage.
  • Return request made after the applicable return window.
  • Item is one of the non-returnable categories listed above.

How to Initiate a Return or Cancellation

To start a return or cancellation, contact our support team with the following information:

  • Order ID
  • Customer name and contact number
  • Reason for return/cancellation
  • Photos showing damage/defect (if applicable)

Legal Compliance & Consumer Rights

This policy is designed to align with Indian consumer protection principles and applicable international consumer protections
(including the 14-day cooling-off norms commonly applied in the US/EU). Where local law provides greater protection or
longer cancellation/return rights, those statutory rights will prevail.

Additional Notes

  • Promotional discounts: Refund amounts on discounted items will be calculated based on the price actually paid after discount.
  • Partial refunds: In certain cases (for example, items missing from an order), we may issue partial refunds.
  • Chargebacks: If a chargeback has been initiated through your card issuer, we will cooperate with the bank’s investigation and may request return of the disputed items.
